Nasya (Nasal Administration Therapy)

Nasya involves the administration of medicated oils or powders through the nasal passages to cleanse and rejuvenate the head and neck region. It is particularly beneficial for disorders related to the head, neck, and respiratory system .
Types:
Virechana Nasya (Cleansing): Removes toxins from the head region.
Brihmana Nasya (Nourishing): Provides nourishment to the tissues.
Shamana Nasya (Palliative): Balances specific doshas causing ailments .
Procedure:
Purvakarma (Preparatory Phase):
Includes facial massage and steam inhalation to open the nasal passages.
Pradhanakarma (Main Procedure):
The patient is positioned with the head tilted back.
Medicated oil or powder is administered into each nostril.
The patient inhales deeply to ensure the medicine reaches the sinus cavities.
Paschatkarma (Post-Procedure Care):
The patient rests and avoids exposure to cold air or dust.
Gargling and inhalation of medicated smoke may be recommended.
